Esme trained at The Birmingham School of Jewellery 1989-91. After qualifying with a BTech HND she started as a jobbing jeweller in the workshops at Cornish Goldsmiths, Portreath.
Her career as a jeweller over the last twenty years, has since encompassed many aspects:designer, illustrator and a maker of exclusive precious jewellery for the Signet Group, diamond & gem sorter/seller for a prestigious company in Hatton Garden culminating in a move from London to Bath as a valuer & validator for leading insurance companies.
Esme now runs her own business: Family Silver on the outskirts of Penzance. She has specialised in creating jewellery based on family history, using old British coins and personalised pieces by commission. And to satisfy her more creative side, she developed a beautiful contemporary silver and ink printed jewellery collection, which you can see here.
The latest addition to this collection are peices made using rose gold and natural ruby beads, to celebrate CCA’s 40th anniversary.
