Printmaking

About Sara

Sara is a full-time painter and printmaker based in the far west of Penwith, Cornwall. Surrounded by its rugged cliffs, shifting light, and dramatic seascapes, she draws inspiration from this unique landscape.

After graduating from Liverpool Polytechnic with a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles, Sara relocated to Sennen. It was here, captivated by the ever-changing moods of the Penwith peninsula, that she began to paint.

Over time, her creative practice has expanded to include printmaking, with a particular focus on monotypes. Her work reflects a deep connection to the natural world—exploring botanical forms, land, and seascapes through expressive mark-making and layered texture. This diversity of subject and technique keeps her work fresh, spontaneous, and continually evolving.

Sara’s paintings and prints are exhibited and sold across Cornwall through several galleries and venues, including:

  • The Blue Bramble Gallery, St Ives
  • Newlyn Pottery Studio and Gallery, Newlyn
  • The Old Coastguard Hotel, Mousehole
  • The Gurnard’s Head Hotel, Zennor
  • Cornwall Crafts Association, Trelissick Gallery, Feock

She regularly participates in solo and group exhibitions and is a long-standing contributor to Cornwall Open Studios. Sara is also an Associate Member of the Penwith Society of Artists.

Her studio is open by appointment, offering visitors a chance to see her creative process firsthand and engage directly with her artwork.
