Heather Frary

Glass

Heather designs and makes coastal countryside and other influenced contemporary glass.   She fuses, leads and copper foils, sand blasts and paints her glass with traditional materials which have been used for centuries.

I have loved playing with the glass and light, and enjoyed the process of learning new skills to do so.    I think I love the reflections of the distorted designs more than the pieces themselves.   The reflections never fail to reveal the textures and the bubbles that are trapped within the glass.    My work has evolved as I find different ways of making a mark on its surface or changing its structure.

Sadly I will be finishing my glass work at the end of this year to play with other things and enjoy my later years.

Thank you so much to all who have surpported me through the years, buying my work and letting me do what I’m most happy doing, making.  I will really miss the CCA and its host of wonderful makers and the brilliant gallery staff.

Much Love to you all Heather x
