Ceramics, Glass

I studied Art in Social Context at Dartington College and then gained a B.A.Hons. in Ceramics and Glass at Birmingham City University.

I have taught ceramics and glass for over 30 years in schools, colleges, social services and adult education whilst also producing work for galleries, exhibitions and private commissions.

My work is always about feelings; Images that provoke an emotion and then stick in my head. I then have the need to express them physically.

There is a constant impulse to handle the material and challenge myself to produce work that represents these feelings.

A key element of my work emphasises the importance of balance and harmony, both aesthetically and physically, combining the materials and techniques of glass and ceramics to create pieces that emphasise the importance of equilibrium.

I am a Founding Director at Create CIC in Camborne, which provides a community ceramic and glass studio.

I occasionally run masterclasses in ceramcs and glass.
