Growing up in the Southwest of England, the Limestone quarries and regional geology was formative in my upbringing. After graduating from Goldsmiths College London, I pursued a career in textiles working for large corporate companies before carving stone became the natural medium for my artistic expression, I particularly exploring the potential and diversity of British stone.
Last year I moved from Devon to the Tamar valley in Cornwall, my new home and studio has provided a deeper connection to the landscape and nature, my current practice is influenced by this and draws on my knowledge gained as a sculptor and lettering artist. Sculptural work is informed by geographical structures and geological forces, while through my letter cutting, I have been exploring lettering forms in a calligraphic and sculptural context,
I exhibit with the Lettering Arts Trust at other galleries nationally and at London Craft week. I am a member of South West Sculptors. I was a director of Devon Artist Network for 5 years .
I run courses in stone carving and letter cutting from my studio in the Tamar valley where I also work on public and private commissions.
