Focus Exhibition
We are delighted that Graham Black’s striking screen prints will join Paula Downings Ceramics for our new Focus Exhibition, running from 10th July to 27th September. Rooted in the rugged coastal landscape of west Cornwall, Graham’s work draws deeply from his connection to the granite cliffs and ancient rock formations of Penwith.
After relocating to west Cornwall eight years ago, graham established a print studio near Land’s End. His practice explores the rich textures and monumental forms of the Cornish landscape, shaped over millennia by wind and water.
More recently his work evolved from representation into abstraction, layering textures and marks to create fields of visual depth and resonance. This most recent body of work is both conceptual and celebratory, with a more expressive use of colour.
Originally trained in graphic design and illustration in Brighton, Graham brings a designer’s eye and a deep respect for landscape to his printmaking process.
We hope you’ll visit the gallery to experience this extraordinary body of work, a bold and tactile response to Cornwall’s geological beauty.
Graham will be joined by ceramicist Paula Downing, whose powerful sculptural forms will also feature as part of the focus exhibition.
